Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition 2017

We are excited to announce that two Year 12 students have had their artworks selected to represent the College in the Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2017. Congratulations to Mairead Chapman and her artwork Pure (oil on canvas) and Lauren Jones and her artwork Under our Skin (charcoal). This prestigious exhibition provides a platform to showcase selected artworks from students graduating from Year 12 WACE Visual Arts and delivers an annual barometer of what our youth are thinking and feeling. Congratulations to the girls on this exceptional achievement.

Year 12 Perspectives runs from 28 January - 2 April 2017 at the Art Gallery of WA.

Year 7 Visual Arts Day

On Tuesday 15 November, twenty enthusiastic and creative Year 7 students participated in an extension program in Visual Arts, otherwise known as Year 7 Visual Arts Day. This program is designed to provide high achieving art students with a whole day of art making to further develop their skills, extend their knowledge and foster their appreciation of the Visual Arts. Together they created a collaborative artwork; a large-scale mural depicting five portrait artworks of the great Modernists: Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo and Roy Lichtenstein. These five artists were revolutionary in the way they challenged the artistic traditions of their time, producing artworks that were innovative, emotive and experimental. Each student was given a panel to paint in acrylics which they pieced together like a puzzle at the end of the day to reveal their completed artwork. The students' performance on the day was exceptional, demonstrating enthusiasm, passion and talent that exceeded all our expectations. Their mural looks amazing!

Congratulations to the following students who were selected to be involved in the program: Abbey Leong, Ella Naismith, Caitlin Curtis, Caitlin Green, Anna Van Gent, Grace Barbour, Eddie Monisse, Cohen Rafiq, Eloise Roberts, Charlotte Preston, Rosa Defrancesco, Bailey Arundell, Abbey Chapman, Kiran Tandon, Isabella Lindsay, Sydney Stokes, Michael Reynolds, Akash Parekh, Ella Massey-Hicks and Amalia Olsen.
