Around the Primary

Dear Parents

I have often been awe struck by the demeanour of our students during assemblies, liturgies, sporting events and performances. Their conduct has a quality to it that demonstrates quite clearly that they have a great deal of respect for themselves and for those they come across on a daily basis. I felt privileged to attend the Year One Mass this morning with a large number parents and grandparents. I was again reminded of the special culture that exists amongst the student population. The respectful manner in which children respond to adults and other children, conduct themselves in the Chapel, participate in prayers and liturgies, join in singing are all strong indicators that our students are a special group of children indeed. All who have played a part in their development here at school, in conjunction with your complementary love, input and direction as parents, deserve sincere congratulations. Special thanks to Miss Joyce and Miss Davis for preparing today's lovely liturgy and to Mrs Ferguson-Allen for the great music.

Our Swimming lessons for Pre Primary to Year 2 start next week at Claremont Swimming Pools. The young children are certainly looking forward with excitement and enthusiasm to these lessons. On the other hand, Mr and Mrs Alderman have been sharing their dancing talents with the primary students and by the sounds of it the students are having a great time learning new steps and moves. Our students in Years 3-6 will be sharing their talents with us on Thursday 6th December from 2pm in the hall. Everyone is welcome!

Presentation Evening is almost upon us and I wish to remind families that the evening is compulsory for children in Years 4, 5 and 6. Please allow enough travel and parking time to have the children arrive at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre by 6.20pm to meet their teacher. All families will need to be seated by 6.45pm to ensure a prompt start at 7.00pm.

Booklists for 2013 have been sent home and are also available on the school website.
Please refer to the booklist for full details regarding ordering.

Yours sincerely
