Netball 2013

In a new initiative from the ACC this year, the senior NAS champion netball team was placed into the elimination finals day for the High Schools' Cup. Over 100 schools took part in this competition, with the top performers attending the elimination finals.

After finishing the NAS season undefeated and also winning the Interzone final, the girls performed very well in the High Schools cup. We finished second in our pool to Aranmore's netball specialist team which sent us to meet Churchlands in the crossover finals. The scores were tied at the end of the match and again after 6 minutes of extra time. Unfortunately after more overtime we were defeated. The result still placed us inside the top 10 schools in the competition, which is a great achievement.

I would like to thank and congratulate the girls for a wonderful season. Their netball skills, sportsmanship and teamwork were all of an exceptionally high standard. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a great group of girls.

Champions League Netball

The champion's league netball team had quite a successful season this year winning not only the NAS grand final against Sacred Heart College but also the Interzone Final against Kennedy Baptist College.

From the start of the season to now, it is clear of the vast improvements from every player on the team. We grew to work extremely well together and as a result we experienced many victories.

Throughout the season, each player has shown great sportsmanship and commitment to our team, especially last Thursday as we battled against the elements in the High Schools' Cup. Despite winning our first 2 games we were unfortunately eliminated by Churchlands High School in double extra time.

I'd like to thank our coach Miss Power who has dedicated so much of her time to us. She is a positive and enthusiastic member of our team. Also I'd like to acknowledge our umpire throughout the season, Mrs. Alderman. I hope we are able to match this great feat with next year's team.
