Primary

Dear Parents,

On Thursday morning our whole College Community came together to celebrate a beautiful farewell Mass for our 'tea-rrific' principal Mrs Fry. Later in the day the children enjoyed the 'Fry-Up' sausage sizzle and had a great time sharing stories with Mrs Fry. A big thank you to all the parent volunteers who cooked over 450 sausages for us to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to come along to our Primary Assembly next Thursday 28th May at 9 am to farewell Mrs Fry on her last day at John XXIII.

On Thursday afternoon our Year 5 and 6 students participated in various winter sports against Loreto. The students enjoyed the competitive games and displayed great sportsmanship. Next Thursday (28th May) our football and netball teams are heading off to Newman College and we will be hosting the soccer and hockey games. We look forward to seeing a parent cheer squad at these games. I'm sure the students are going to enjoy the competition ahead.

Last night our Kindy parents took part in an Occupational Therapy workshop with Sue Beurteaux. This was a fun and practical way for parents to find out more about correct pencil grasp, learning to write and form letters and numbers, drawing and colouring skills and cutting skills. Further information can be found on our College website. Thank you to Mrs De Campe and Mrs Kounis for organising this wonderful opportunity for our families.

The Year 2G students prepared a great assembly for us all to enjoy today. Congratulations to Miss Cooney and all the terrific twos for sharing important information about being 'water-wise' and for their entertaining singing and dancing. Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us.

Dressed in pioneer style clothes the year 3 students visited the Kalamunda History Village on Wednesday. They enjoyed learning about life in the olden days and happily engaged in various chores, such as, washing clothes, ironing and washing dishes the old fashioned way!

I look forward to seeing (and hearing) all the Wanju Singers at the Autumn Soiree on Sunday evening.

Enjoy the weekend!

Kind Regards
