Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Thank you all for coming along and supporting the children on Open Night. Your presence and positive support was very much appreciated. Special thanks to the Primary staff for preparing their class-rooms so beautifully - the quality of the work and the creativity of displays was fantastic. In addition, a sincere thank you to all the music teachers for organising the amazing entertainment on the night. Most importantly, I would like to congratulate the children for working so hard and producing wonderful work across all the learning areas.

We have been extremely unfortunate with the weather this week which disrupted the running of our Years 3-6 Interhouse Athletics Carnival. It is important to note that the decision to reschedule the Carnival was done with the best interests of the students in mind. I would like to thank the staff for willingly adapting their classroom programs over the last few days and to all the parents for being so flexible and supportive. Furthermore, it was great to see so many parents and grandparents brave the wet and windy weather conditions and join us on the oval on Wednesday.

Well done to all the students - we are very proud of your efforts! We were able to finish all the running events although the team games have yet to be completed. The long range forecast regarding the weather is not promising but we hope to run these team games on Thursday , 26th September at 1.30pm. We will then be able to announce the champion house for 2013.

Thank you to Mr Alderman for organising the Carnival and to all staff and parents who helped with the setting up, the packing away and with the various tasks that needed to be carried out on Carnival day.

Our Interschool team has been selected and we wish them well at the IPSHA Interschool Carnival at that will be held at All Saints on Tuesday 24th September. Let's hope for better conditions!

Just a reminder, our Grandparents' Picnic is scheduled for Friday 18th October (weather permitting). We understand that some grandparents may not be able to come along and we would welcome another family member or special family friend to join us for the picnic lunch.

We hope many parents and friends can join us at the Twilight Recital this Sunday afternoon. The concert begins at 5.30pm in the Gonzaga Barry Lecture Theatre.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
