Around the Primary

Dear Parents

The Primary school has again been a hive of activity all week as the staff have been busy writing reports and the students have taken part in a variety of learning activities, in and out of the classroom.

This week the Year 6 GATE (Gifted and Talented) students have had the opportunity to participate in the Primary Philosothon at the Art Gallery or the Explorer Trails at the Fremantle Maritime Museum. Both of these excursions have further ignited our students' curiosity and successfully taken their learning beyond the classroom.

This week the Year 6 GATE (Gifted and Talented) students have had the opportunity to participate in the Primary Philosothon at the Art Gallery or the Explorer Trails at the Fremantle Maritime Museum. Both of these excursions have been student-centred, have further ignited our students' curiosity and successfully taken their learning beyond the classroom.

Special thanks to Dr Annette Pedersen (Magis Coordinator) and Clare Magee (GATE teacher) for organising these wonderful opportunities for our gifted students. A big thankyou to Jane Roche (Primary Art Specialist) for joining the students at the Gallery and also Mr Moylan for sharing his time with the students at the Museum.

Our Year 5 and 6 students have thoroughly enjoyed participating in our Interschool Winter Fixtures on Thursday afternoons and our Year 3 and 4 students always look forward to their Interhouse Winter Sports games on Friday afternoons. Please take the time to have a look at our students in action on the footy field

It has also been wonderful to see so many young runners and their parents arrive for the early morning cross-country training sessions, regardless of the weather conditions. All families are most welcome to join Mr Alderman for a fitness run next Tuesday, 24th June at 7.30am in the Primary undercover area.

Next Thursday, 26th June we are hosting the IPSHA Winter Carnival. At this sporting event, we will be joined by All Saints College, Carmel School, Loreto Primary School, Newman College, St Andrews', Tranby College, Quintilian School and John Wollaston. Please join us for the start of the Carnival at 9.30 am finishing at 2.00pm. Our thanks to Mr Alderman for coordinating this great experience for our students.

Many of our Primary children will be performing in this year's Music Eisteddfod. We look forward to seeing our talented children perform next Monday in the Primary Music Room. Parents and grandparents are most welcome to come along!

Kind Regards,

Antoinette De Pinto

Head of Primary
