Around the Primary

On Wednesday night our talented Primary Dancers displayed their amazing dancing skills at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. The dance routine was a culmination of weeks of preparation and rehearsals. Those who were lucky enough to attend would agree that it was an outstanding performance. I would like to congratulate all of the students for their performance and commitment to the program and all the parents for ensuring that their children were able to attend rehearsals. Also, a big thank you to the parents who assisted with making costumes and all their support behind the scenes. Special thanks to Ruth Bott for her dedication and commitment to ensure the performance was such a success.

Students from Years 3 - 6 will compete in the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival next week, Thursday 23rd August. The goal of the day is for maximum participation and good sportsmanship skills. Win or lose, rain or shine, it should be a great day!

All the children had an absolutely wonderful time today celebrating John XXIII Day. Through their Religious Education lessons this week the children have learnt about Pope John XXIII and have had the opportunity to reflect on how we might try to embrace the special attributes of 'compassion, competence and conscience' in our daily lives.

A big thank you to all the staff for organising today's John XXIII Day celebrations - events like this take a lot of planning and preparation and we are all very lucky to have such excellent staff who work so tirelessly to make special days like this come together for all to enjoy. Thank you to the amazing parents who helped on the day with the sausage sizzle. A wonderful time was had by all!

Next week we will engage the children in the excitement of Book Week and remind them about how important and inspiring books can be in our lives. The theme of this year's Book Week throughout Australia is 'Champions Read!' We welcome everyone to visit the Library to view the latest in children's literature.
