Around the Primary

The students arrived at the airport very early on Monday morning looking very smart in their new blue and gold jackets. Our students proved to be wonderful ambassadors for their families and College as they visited many educational destinations such as, Parliament House (old and new), the War Memorial, CSIRO, Portrait Gallery, the National Museum, the High Court and Government House.

In addition, on Wednesday Julie Bishop MP joined our students at the Australian War Memorial and participated in a wreath laying ceremony in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A wonderful photo group can be located on the following website http://www.juliebishop.com.au/

We would like to thank the Australian Government for contributing $240 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate programme towards the travel expenses incurred.
To add to this very special experience the students and staff stayed at the Australian Institute of Sport for the duration of their trip and also participated in various recreational options around Canberra.
From all accounts this was a successful trip with much to learn from the informative guides at each destination and from the opportunity to practise some independent living skills.
