Around the Primary

Dear Parents

It was lovely to see so many parents at the Year 3B Mass this morning.

The Mass based on compassion and forgiveness was a wonderful community celebration. The Year 3's read beautifully and all of the students added to the liturgy with their lovely singing voices. Special thanks to Mrs Distante, Mrs Lumley and Mrs Alexander for preparing today's celebration.

We are very proud of all of you!

Last Friday marked the first day of National Reconciliation Week. This is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to contribute to building a reconciled Australia. The Years 1-5 students have learnt how to create landscape pictures with artists, Gloria and Maureen. They were also involved in painting a large canvas mural that will be displayed later in our Primary school. Special thanks to Miss Joyce for organising this Aboriginal Art incursion.

The students in Years 3, 4 and 6 have been busy preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation. Each of these Sacraments is an important milestone in the children's faith journey. Please keep all the candidates in your prayers at this special time of their lives.

Once your child has received one of these Sacraments in your Parish, please send a copy of their certificaste to school or feel free to scan a copy through to our Primary Secretary, mcgann.tracey@johnxxiii.edu.au

Enjoy the long weekend!

Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
