Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Next week the Year 6 classes and a team of staff will head to Canberra. This is a massive undertaking to get all our Year 6's organised and prepared for this educational experience. The program will concentrate on our Nation's history, culture, heritage and democracy. This camp is also a wonderful opportunity for our students to practice their social skills and independent living skills. We would like to acknowledge the Australian Government's generosity in providing a subsidy of $260.00 per student under the Parliament & Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program towards the travel expenses incurred.

Special thanks to Mrs Goss, Miss Graves, Miss Jodi Joyce, Mrs Murphy, Mrs Julie Joyce and Mr Fromm for accompanying our future leaders on this wonderful experience. I'm sure we are going to have many interesting stories to share on our return.

Thank you to Ms O'Connor and the students from 4G for organizing today's Assembly. Our assemblies are always a great opportunity for each of the classes to showcase all the learning that is occurring in their classrooms. I am sure all who attended this morning thoroughly enjoyed the Year 4's informative and entertaining presentation about their learning over the semester.

Congratulations to all the students who received a certificate today.

This week we farewelled our Art Specialist, Mrs Jane Roche. We thank Jane for all her wonderful work with the students and for her nine years of dedicated service to the College. We wish Jane every success in her future endeavours.

I encourage all parents to read the attached article, 'How to move your child from worrier to warrior' by Michael Grose. It provides some useful ideas to help your child to become more resilient.

I look forward to seeing everyone after the Canberra Camp.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary

On Monday morning our Pre Primary children treated their mothers to a special morning of pampering. The students gave relaxing massages, painted nails very delicately and enjoyed spending time with their magnificent Mums.
