IT'S TIME TO SAY SAYOONARA

Sadly, two weeks have passed so quickly and so it's time to say "Sayoonara" to Mr Takeshi Kuriya, Ms Mari Kawaguchi, Ms Yoko Yamazaki and our exchange students from Fujimi High School, Tokyo, Japan. They have enjoyed a full program of Aussie activities this week and have been truly blessed by good weather every time they stepped outside! The highlights of the week include a trip to Caversham Wildlife Park, followed by mini-golf with Aghdasi Sensei and the Year Ten Students of Japanese, making, designing and throwing boomerangs with Mr Rob Deurloo, English Language classes with Mr Mike Coppin and Vanessa Lauret and a good ol' Aussie barbecue to top it off.

The BEST thing was last weekend with the host families. Perth turned on two beautiful clear blue summer days. So many students had an opportunity to watch sport, go for bushwalks, visit the beach and enjoy our outdoor life. A big thank you to our host families for your wonderful hospitality.

At 10:30 am on Saturday morning the staff and students of Fujimi High School would like to hold a Farewell and Thank You Ceremony for all their host families. The performance will commence in the Gonzaga Barry Lecture Theatre and then we will move down to the Thomas Moore Exhibition Centre for light refreshments. Families are invited to arrive a little early so that the exchange students can put their luggage in the Exhibition Centre. The "Sayoonara Bus" will arrive at 11:45 to take them into the City of Perth.

Heartfelt thanks to all the staff and students from John XXIII College for their support of the Fujimi Exchange Program, especially to Ms Glen James who helps out as events coordinator and excursion planner extraordinaire.
