French Exchange Programme- Lycee Joffre

Our French Visitors have had another week of great experiences thanks to our welcoming community.

Many were privileged to go on holidays with their generous host families during the long weekend and see our beautiful landscape. At the College the French students once again attended a range of classes. During the week they made an Aussie pie with Ms Toleman, a chopping board with Mr Connery, they completed their Aboriginal Painting with Ms Hoey and studied Australian songs with Ms Lucas. The French students were lucky enough to also work in Drama with Mr Tsakisiris, and a special class with Ms Tesoriero.

In particular, it has been a pleasure to have them in our French classes and capitalise on access to real French speakers with their expertise to complement our syllabi. Whilst visiting our Year 8 classes, both the French and Australian students engaged in each other's culture. The Year 12 French class interviewed the exchange students in some of the main themes of this year's WACE Examination, such as Music; Cinema; Lifestyles and Youth Issues. This is a wonderful learning experience for all concerned.

A big thank you to Mrs Lucas for all her hard work in organising the school based activities and timetable at school for all the students and for her assistance and support in every aspect of the exchange.

A big thank you to all the families and staff that assisted in making this exchange program such a success. Without you all it would have been not possible.

We wish the French visitors a safe journey home and look forward to continuing our positive relationship in the future.

Bon Voyage!
