Around the Primary

Dear Parents,

Today was our final assembly for this school year. Thank you to our PrePrimary classes for entertaining us with their fantastic assembly this morning. We have had a range of assembly items throughout the year but, there has always been a constant; the sheer enjoyment the children have in presenting their songs, dances, poems, plays etc to the school community. Special thanks to Miss Monastra and Miss Di Biaggio and to all the staff for all the hard work they put into preparing the students for today's assemblies and the other assemblies throughout the year. I would also like to thank all the parents who have supported the children and the staff at these various assemblies as this has helped to build a sense of community within our school.

As I mentioned to the students at today's assembly, this week has been very busy at John XXIII. On Monday night it was Presentation Night and it was wonderful to see our Year 4, 5 and 6 students representing the Primary School. It was also great to be able to host this special event in our very own gym. Our Year Five students beautifully presented the Christmas Story through song and dance. Special thanks to Mrs Morell for preparing this Christmas canata.

Congratulations to all our Award Winners for 2013.

On Thursday afternoon our Year 3 - 6 students participated in the Primary 'Dance-Off'. The students confidently shared their dancing skills under the wonderful direction of Mr and Mrs Alderman. Thank you to those parents who came to support the students and also stepped onto the dance floor to display their groovy dance moves.

Our Year 6 Graduation Mass will take place on Tuesday, 10th December at 6.30pm. This will be followed by a light supper in the Exhibition Centre. Special thanks to the Year 5 and 6 parents for co-ordinating the supper.

To celebrate the last day of term, December 13th, all students from PrePrimary to Year 9 will be attending a Thanksgiving Mass. On this day all students are welcome to come dressed in casual clothes, possibly wearing Christmas colours or may be a Christmas t-shirt or hat.

The Primary Singers and Wanju Voices are performing in the Christmas Picnic Concert on Sunday 8th December at 5 pm. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Kind Regards
