Around the Primary

Dear Parents

A huge thank you to all the Dads and special father figures who came along to our Father's Day Mass and then stayed and enjoyed a breakfast treat with their children. It was also wonderful to see all our Dads mingling with one another and introducing themselves to others. The morning was friendly, relaxed and happy and the children just loved showing their Dads around their classrooms. Special thanks to Ms Cooney and Year 2B for preparing the lovely prayers and beautiful PowerPoint tribute at Mass. It was such a great way to start the day. A big thank you to Mrs Bloodworth (Home Economics teacher) and the Year 11 students who turned up early to get our Father's Day muffins ready for all our special visitors. We also thank the Men of John XXIII for supporting this annual event.

Well done to Year 2B who delighted us with an outstanding Assembly item today about Mental Maths and number lines. They danced and sang in a way that had us all thoroughly entertained and they also recited the times tables so confidently. It was wonderful watching our 'terrific twos' performing so confidently in front of the whole Primary school. Well done to Miss Carrello for all her hard work.

Congratulations to all of our Merit Award recipients. We are so proud of you all!

The countdown is now on for the Year 4 Musical, 'Cinderella and Rockerfella'. The children have been working very hard at rehearsals with Mrs Morell and are particularly enjoying rehearsals on the stage. Next week the children will have a dress rehearsal and also present a matinee performance for the students and staff in the Primary school. The Year 4's are very excited that all the tickets have now been sold for the Tuesday night performance.

Next Friday 11 September all Years 3-6 students will be participating in the Interhouse Athletics Carnival. The carnival will commence at 9am and the day will conclude with the presentation of the shield to the winning House at approximately 2.30pm. All students need to wear their House shirts and bring along their hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. We hope to see many parents and friends at this event to cheer on our athletes.

Enjoy Father's Day with your wonderful children!

Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
