Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Well done to Mr Edwards and students from Year 5B for preparing the assembly item. The children read well and spoke with a high degree of confidence.

Congratulations to all our students who received a certificate at today's assembly. It is terrific to have so many hard working students in our classrooms.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with teachers about your child/ren's learning this week. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate children's achievements, talk about challenges and how school and home can work together for the betterment of your child. It is important to note that you are always welcome to make another appointment during the year to continue the conversation with the teachers about your child's learning.

A big thank you to our teachers who put in extra long hours meeting with all parents. It is these meetings that help to build strong family school foundations whereby a student can be fully supported in their learning.

Next week our Year 5 and 6 students are leading our Holy Week liturgies. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and allows us to walk with Jesus in his final days that lead up to his Crucifixion. As Holy Week is in the school holidays this year we are holding the experience a week earlier to allow the students to learn about the meaning of Holy Week. Our Palm Sunday reflection is scheduled for 9am on Monday in the Chapel. Our Last Supper reflection will begin at 9am on Wednesday in the amphitheatre and the Stations of the Cross will take place on Friday at 11am in the Chapel. Everyone is welcome to come along to these special prayer times.

Next Thursday afternoon our Year 6 Basketball teams will be participating in the IPSHA Basketball Carnival. We wish our two teams every success in this competition.

Year 6 Boys Basketball Team:- Kieran Kavanagh, Hamish Ryan, James Lawless, Patrick Robson, Christian Jarvis, Matthew Toms, Jack Court, Oliver Woodland, Joseph Betts & Noah Brown

Year 6 Girls Basketball Team:- Zoe Broderick, Sophie Manners, Mia Burton, Chelsea Morphett, Celeste Fryer, Jessica Matera, Ashleigh Smith, Eliza Thompson, Ashton Wee & Maddie Fry

Driving around the school grounds

In the interests of all concerned:

  • Please take care in our car parks
  • Please be patient and courteous
  • Please do not 'double-park' in the loop car-park (even if it's raining!)
  • Thank you to all drivers who display their 'family names' when driving through the loop after school
  • Thank you to all who drive very slowly and carefully

Mrs Genna Haines will be leaving us at the end of this term. We wish Genna and Cameron every blessing as they look forward to the birth of their first child. The students of Year 2G are looking forward to meeting their new teacher, Miss Stephanie Figueira next week.

Mrs Cath De Campe will commence her well-deserved Long Service Leave next term. We wish Cath an enjoyable break from school routine. Mrs Clare Pearce, a current member of staff, working in a part time capacity will join the Kindy team next term.

Finally, we farewell Carina Ascherl, a student teacher from Germany. We thank Carina for her contributions this term and wish her every success with her future studies.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
