2013 St Georges Cathedral Art Exhibition

Congratulations to Elouise Clarke in Year 11 who won the 'Textiles and Wearable Art' award at the annual St Georges Cathedral Art Exhibition last week. Elouise took home a $200 cash prize for her felted sculpture Coral Outcrop, a brightly coloured coral sculpture made from handmade felt and the technique of hollow form felting.

Year 12 Stage 3 Visual Arts students Eloise Connell and Jessie Lee also had their outstanding artworks on display. Eloise's oil painting Fuego Fuego explores her love of flamenco dance and the relationship between dance teacher and student. Jessie's artwork Khmer Grandmother is a charcoal drawing based on an inspirational woman she met on a trip to Cambodia. Jessie received a special mention from Art Gallery director Stefano Carboni on opening night; he praised her high level of technical skill and was amazed by the realism of the artwork.
