High Achievers' Breakfast

High Achievers' Breakfast - Celebrating 2015 Semester 2 Academic Achievement

Thursday morning, 11 February, saw the first High Achievers' Breakfast of 2016. It was wonderful to see such buzzing and lively faces enjoying their achievements of the past year and sharing this with their peers. The breakfast was lovely, but it was made even more excellent being able to mingle with other year groups, and hear about their year and what they learned, as well as our own friends. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our achievements of the previous year and focus on the goals of the one ahead, but to also remember to remain humble in our achievements. The guest speaker, Tom McCleery, an alumni of the College, spoke about his time spent at John XXIII and his life beyond as an Electrical Engineer for BHP Billiton. He stressed that it is important to do what you enjoy and to make the most of the opportunities presented to you and to always as he said "have a go". The morning was an incredibly pleasant way to begin the day and I'm very thankful I got to be a part of it.
