Human Resources Manager

John XXIII College is a co-educational Catholic school (Pre K-12) which operates under the authority of the Catholic Archbishop of Perth and has an excellent reputation for academic and co-curricular achievements and quality facilities. The College provides a caring educational environment in which parents and staff support each other to nurture students' development.

The College is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to develop and support a culture of continual improvement that places the core business of learning at the centre of decision making, and oversees and implements all key HR policies, procedures and processes.

To be successful in this newly created position it is essential that you have the ability to cope with a diverse stakeholder group in a dynamic environment. Your key responsibilities include:

  • providing proactive advice, guidance and support to the College Leadership Team in relation to performance management, culture, succession and development, employee relations, team management and conflict resolution
  • developing and overseeing key HR procedures, including induction, job descriptions and recruitment
  • working with the Business Manager to implement performance reviews and professional development programs for College Support Staff, and overseeing their wellbeing
  • building and maintaining databases for monitoring and reviewing relevant College policies and accreditation requirements for staff
  • developing and managing the recruitment database and appointment and exit process.

The successful candidate will also display the following:

  • a minimum of 7 years' experience in a pastoral environment, possibly school based or in the not for profit sector
  • a HR qualification or AHRI Certification
  • the ability to work in a team and independently
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • attention to detail
  • good time management
  • advanced information technology skills
  • initiative and enterprise
  • ability to deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.
