Assistant Principal Primary

In the spirit of John XXIII, Mary Ward and Ignatius Loyola, our College seeks to develop people of competence, conscience and compassion who are committed to God and the service of others.

John XXIII College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Principal (Primary) to join the College in 2016.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, an energetic and collaborative approach with a depth of knowledge of current educational theories and practices. Competence with technology and ICT and experience at using computer applications to enhance teaching and learning are strongly desirable.

Excellent teaching and classroom management skills are essential, along with a desire to assist students to achieve their full potential.

The applicant must actively support and promote the Ethos of the Catholic school and is required to have the necessary accreditation through the Catholic Education WA as well as registration with TRBWA. A current Working with Children card/application must be submitted at the time of application.

  • Display a thorough knowledge of current educational theories and practices and a proven ability to drive educational change and lead staff in professional learning
  • Success in facilitating the collection of data at a student, classroom and whole school level with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data to drive school improvement
  • Success in forward planning and co-constructing whole school documents such as Curriculum, Annual School Improvement and Strategic Plans
  • Possess strong ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology into the daily classroom environment
  • Success in leading the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and the use of SCSA judging standards

Qualifications required:

  • A relevant four year tertiary qualification
  • A minimum of seven years teaching experience
  • Accreditation for Leadership of the Religious Education Learning Area

Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, addressed to the Principal, including the names and contact numbers of three referees, one of whom must be the current employer and a Parish Priest. Applicants must have a current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA) to be eligible for appointment. Information is available from the TRBWA website.
